Templus strengthens its territorial expansion with the acquisition of bitNAP’s Data Center in Barcelona

  • The Barcelona Data Center spans over 3,000 m² and has a capacity of 1.7 MW. It is equipped with cutting-edge technology and operational efficiency, featuring a PUE of 1.14—one of the lowest in the market.
  • Templus’ roadmap includes doubling its current IT capacity while improving all sustainability and energy efficiency parameters of the data center.

With this acquisition, Templus begins 2025 with six locations and confirms its goal of surpassing 20 data centers across the Iberian Peninsula by the end of the year.

Barcelona, February 4, 2025 – Templus, the largest regional data center platform in Southern Europe, backed by ICG Infra, the infrastructure fund of ICG, a global alternative asset manager, and Teras Capital (“Teras”), an investment platform specializing in telecommunications and sports infrastructure, has acquired bitNAP’s Data Center in Barcelona from Cellnex. This acquisition consolidates Templus’ commitment to territorial expansion and enhances its technological infrastructure capabilities.

The Barcelona Data Center spans over 3,000 m² and has a capacity of 1.7 MW. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and operational efficiency, with a PUE of 1.14—one of the lowest in the market. Templus aims to enhance all sustainability and energy efficiency parameters while doubling its current IT capacity.
