Bio
He is co-director of the Legaltech & NewLaw ICADE – Garrigues Observatory. He is a regular speaker at courses and conferences at business schools. Advisor since 2019 to BiDLab (Innovation Lab of the Inter-American Development Bank), member of the Board of Directors of the Alastria Consortium, being a member representing Spain in the BEPAB of the OECD at the proposal of the Directorate General of the Treasury (Ministry of Economy).
1989–19994
He began his professional career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) where he gained his first experience in technology and programming, later joining ARTHUR ANDERSEN Asesores Legales y Tributarios (now part of Garrigues) focusing mainly on tax and legal advice in the area of financial services and banking.
1994–2001
He was appointed Secretary General of Banco Cooperativo Español (CAJA RURAL Group), holding the posts of Director of Legal Advisory Services, Director of Human Resources and Secretary of the Board of Directors. At the Bank, he has held positions on the Risk Committees and represents the Caja Rural Group on the boards of Servired and Visa España. During this period he was a director of Espiga Sociedad Gestora de Entidades de Capital Riesgo, participating in the investment committee.
2001–2019
Subsequently, he joined EVERIS (reaching the position of partner in his first stage in the company) where he was responsible for the management of the Group’s support area at first (2004). From the legal area of the Company, he subsequently participated in the development of new activities and businesses, being a director of the group’s venture capital companies, Itinvestco, now dissolved, and Fit Invesión en Talento, Sociedad de Capital Riesgo, SA. Since 2017 he is partner of EVERIS INITIATIVES, NTT DATA’s investment and new business area for EMEAL, promoting the launch of different Telco, Fintech and Legaltech companies (Billib, AHI+, Grupo Momo, ioBuilders, SIIfacil, Bottax).
In addition to acting as General Counsel of the aforementioned Fintech-Legaltech companies, he is General Counsel of TERAS CAPITAL and Ofcounsel at Garrigues, assisting in the Firm’s digitalisation and new business strategy.
