Templus acquires Grupo Aire’s data centers in Lisbon, Madrid, and Valencia

Through a strategic agreement between the two companies, Templus strengthens its international expansion by adding data centers in Lisbon, Madrid, and Valencia to its platform. At the same time, Grupo Aire becomes a strategic partner of Templus, retaining its customers in these data centers and increasing its reach by incorporating those operated by Templus in Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Seville, and soon, Ceuta.

Following the recent agreement to acquire nine data centers from Atlas Edge in Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Switzerland, Templus will undertake a series of upgrades across all these facilities to enhance their operational capacity, increasing both power and floor space. In addition, the data centers will be upgraded to meet the highest standards of sustainability and energy efficiency, in line with the company’s strong commitment to ESG criteria. As a result, they will meet the requirements to be certified as TIER III.

For its part, Grupo Aire strengthens its network and consolidates its ability to offer high-quality connectivity and cloud services to businesses and organizations, benefiting from the planned improvements to the data centers and from expanded access to the entire Templus network as a strategic partner (Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Seville, and soon, Ceuta). All of this is achieved while maintaining seamless customer service and management, both in its own data centers (Alicante, Talavera de la Reina, and the Canary Islands) and now across the full Templus network, enabling Grupo Aire to continue driving the development of its cloud platform and the creation of advanced solutions.

According to Nacho Velilla, CEO of Templus: “The transaction we have completed with Grupo Aire is of great importance to Templus. On the one hand, it expands our presence across Spain, and on the other, it allows us to enter Portugal, a key market in our international expansion. With this integration, Templus reinforces its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence, offering its customers a broader, more efficient, and more resilient data center network. At the same time, we are entering into a long-term strategic agreement with a leading connectivity and cloud operator such as Grupo Aire.”

Javier Polo, CEO of Grupo Aire, adds: “This strategic agreement allows us to strengthen our coverage while focusing on accelerating our leadership in cloud services, with innovative solutions and improved service for our customers. The agreement with Templus gives us the agility we need to remain at the forefront of enterprise digital transformation in Spain.”

Thanks to this transaction, Templus adds 6.5 MW to its installed capacity, which is expected to exceed 60 MW by 2026.
